About Mimi Nursery

Located at 13352 S Euclid St, Garden Grove, CA 92843, Mimi Nursery operates as a wholesale nursery serving Garden Grove in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Garden Grove, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in California, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

I'm a local, but I recently discovered MiMi Nursery and am so happy I did. They have the most incredible selection and variety of rare succulents. They have always been incredibly kind when I had questions or needed assistance. They have the sweetest dog, Bella, who you will meet if you visit. I am so thankful for such a wonderful source of incredible plants. Do yourself a favor and go see the nursery in person. It is beautiful!

I visit this Nursery every time I come into California from Wisconsin, about once a year. They always have new and unique succulents and Cactus. I know some people complain that they are not rooted, but I find that the fresh imports are good as they place them in a lava rock so they will not rot and then I can easily transplant them to the ground or medium that I would like to keep the plant in. Thet also get neat planters in.

I bought a few plants from MIMI and 2 of them rotted immediately after potting. She refused to refund me and only send a replacement which she made me partially pay for. The replacement also rotted and she refused to take accountability. I have been made aware by many plant collectors that MIMI sells unrooted and imported plants that are not in healthy conditions. The customer service is horrible and she refused to sell to me again for bringing up the rotted plants that she sold me. She finally decided to send me a partial refund after our back and forth.

I have seen Mimi nursery in passing being apart of plant groups on Facebook so she is not new to me however I am new to finally purchasing from her. I saw in comments of a Facebook post she had a killer deal on a lot including 3 trays of lost tag (NoID) hoyas. I asked ALOT of questions and ended up contacting her outside of Facebook on Instagram to not loose out. Mimi answered all my questions as well as sent videos and photos. I will not lie I almost thought the deal was too good to be true and grew apprehensive of my purchase. I have never had hoyas shipped bare root and was slightly worried. I am blown away with what I received. It's exactly as shown in the photos and video which was my biggest concern of just receiving something random. I cannot recommend her enough. The transparency is what is the most admirable and thorough communication.

Not sure why she has so many negative reviews. Honestly she's the only person who has these rare plants at that price point. Just know you are getting an imported plant as it is hard to get it in the US. It's been in a box in the dark, it needs time to adjust and when you bring it home, it needs to adjust again. Please do your research on what potting medium, sun requirement, and type of care your plant needs. While some things are hundreds of dollars it's because it's hard to come by. For instance $100 cluster of aeoniun of Mimis has probably 20 to 30 heads. People sell cuttings of the same plant for $10 to $30 a cutting, it also takes 2 or more years to grow from a single stem to cluster. In the pics you'll see if you properly care for the plants they'll do fine. The crested pink aeonium I bought have made about 20 babies. Check pics below.
